To promote of the final season of Game of Thrones, Framestore partnered with HBO to create two fully immersive fan experiences: “Beyond the Wall VR” and “The Dead Must Die: A Magic Leap Encounter.”  The VR experience launched on Viveport, and both interactive installations launched for a limited time across select AT&T flagship stores, bringing White Walkers to life across the U.S.

Featuring the epic “Battle of Frozen Lake,” the experience brings to life the scale of the Northern tundra and the Night King’s Army of the Dead.  Every element was meticulously crafted using show reference, VFX assets & 3D environment scans.  Framestore engineered a bespoke physical set that housed the equipment needed to deliver a truly immersive experience: moving floors, heat, icy wind, all within a seamless scenic design.

The experience seamlessly blended the cinematic, the interactive and the physical - providing a window into Westeros only possible from Virtual Reality.
